I worked closely with the bar manager to quickly produce posters advertising weekly events, special concerts, and promotions as well as the production of menus, certificates, and other needs of the bar. To further secure the bar’s online presence, I worked with the manager to obtain a domain, Twitter account, and Facebook Page that all have the matching “theowlbar” name.
In 2010, The Owl underwent a logo rebrand. In order to adapt to the new branding, I developed new elements to match the new logo. The logo, designed by Squareflo, uses cyan and a dark grey-blue colour. The bar itself was re-painted with black and cyan blue. Posters, menus, and future branding now uses the cyan blue, black, and white as key colours and solid blocks, angles, and square shapes as design elements.
As the use of QR codes became popular in 2010, I developed a mobile-friendly online menu for The Owl. This made The Owl’s menu accessible to staff and students on the go. The mobile menu project was discontinued with the introduction of the Owl App in late 2011.
